Candy Robbins

 Working within the medical sector for the past 35 years having gained dual qualifications of Registered General Nurse (RGN) & Registered Nurse (Child) as well as Independent Prescribing & PGDip in ‘First Contact Care’ has contributed to senior management positions in Accident & Emergency, Primary care & the Prison setting.

Caring deeply about the health and well-being of patients in challenging custodial settings including young offenders, I became the CEO of an independent organisation with an aim; to provide a service to offenders that would effectively meet their unique and specific needs, helping to reduce the disadvantage, stigma and social exclusion they often experience on release. We became a blueprint for good practice in prison healthcare and now emulated throughout the prison settings. 

Having listened to many offenders’ stories, am sure if they had had access to unique & innovative schools such as Holton, I believe many would have avoided custodial sentences. My skill set is transferable and am excited to be part of the governing team at ‘Holton’ supporting staff & students’ as Educational Visits Coordinator.
